Connect Lemon Squeezy
No API key needed. You add one webhook in Lemon Squeezy with a URL and a secret from your Checkout Sync settings.
- In your Checkout Sync settings, press Connect a checkout, then Lemon Squeezy, then Connect Lemon Squeezy. You'll see a URL and a signing secret.
- In Lemon Squeezy, open Settings → Webhooks and press the + button.
- Paste the URL into Callback URL and the secret into Signing secret.
- Tick these events:
order_created,order_refunded,subscription_created,subscription_updated,subscription_cancelled,subscription_expired,subscription_payment_success,subscription_payment_failed,subscription_payment_refunded. - Save the webhook.
To check it works, press Send a test sale next to Lemon Squeezy in your settings, or make a test-mode purchase in Lemon Squeezy. It shows up under Recent activity within a few seconds and doesn't count toward your plan.
More than one Lemon Squeezy store? Add the same webhook in each store. They all report to the same Kit account.
Good to know
- Renewals are recorded as their own purchases in Kit, named after the subscription product (Lemon Squeezy sends that name a moment after the payment, so a renewal can take a few seconds longer to show up).
- For failed payments,
update_payment_urlis your store's customer portal, where buyers sign in by email and update their card. - Lemon Squeezy's own Kit integration can stay on. If it adds buyers to a form, that keeps working as before.
Import past orders
To import past customers, Lemon Squeezy needs an API key just for the import. In Lemon Squeezy, open Settings → API, press +, name it Checkout Sync import, and paste the key into the import box. We bring in subscriptions first (for product names and status), then orders and renewals, and delete the key when the import ends. You can delete it in Lemon Squeezy afterwards too.
